Come learn about one of the most popular nighttime creatures, the owl! Dissect an owl pellet to unravel the mystery of what an owl does at night and what makes them the silent hunter. During extended hours, you will have the rare chance to stay late and see firsthand the fascinating world of owls.

About the Event
On the first Thursday of every month, the Masonville Cove Campus holds extended hours, where the general public is permitted to explore the campus until sunset. Pre-registered guests will be permitted to explore the campus after sunset on a free guided walk, hosted by the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Come learn about one of the most famous nighttime creatures, the owl! You will learn how people can dissect an owl pellet to unravel the mystery of what an owl does at night and what makes them the silent hunter. During this program, you will have the rare chance to stay late and see firsthand the fascinating world of owls outside at night. All ages are invited, and self-led activities will be available! The program begins promptly at 5:00 PM. All children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. PLEASE RESERVE A TICKET FOR EACH PERSON THAT WILL BE COMING WITH YOU and review the COVID-19 guidelines carefully.Â
COVID-19 Guidelines: Please note that the Masonville Cove Environmental Education Center building remains closed under COVID-19 restrictions, and bathroom facilities are not currently available. Â Â Visitors must sign in outside the building. When visiting, please stay safe and respect others by following CDC guidelines by socially distancing yourself from others and wearing a mask when in close proximity to others.
