About the Event
Join us for an in-person craft inspired by nature! We will share stories and learn about the groundhogs at Masonville while making our own groundhog puppet crafts. Enjoy the great outdoors on a walk with us for field observations and take a moment to appreciate these animals! Registration required.
Young scientists will learn about groundhogs, how their body hibernates, and how they build their winter hibernation burrows. Participants will learn how groundhogs emerging in spring can actually indicate warming weather and changing seasons. Young scientists will also engage in field observations (nature walk) of groundhog burrows, and will build a model groundhog popping out of one for their craft.
