About the Event
Healthy water in nature is important for everyone. Did you know that you can use leaves to reveal whether water in nature is healthy? Come learn about this special way to test the water and become a water scientist for a day! In our inaugural event on March 24, 2021 you will learn how to set-up a leaf-pack survey, collect site condition information, and conduct abiotic water quality tests. In subsequent events, participants will learn how to complete a biotic index using macroinvertebrate data from the leaf packs to assess water quality at Masonville Cove Stream. This event is free and open to the public, however registration is required. Participants 18 and under must be supervised by an adult.
